Short

Today Micah had lunch at Grandma Retha's. I stayed home and entertained Amy all day. I had planned to pack and clean and be really productive with Micah gone, but instead of sleeping happily all day, Amy decided to be awake and social. She did sit nicely in her chair a little bit, but then she would fuss until I scooped her up. I thought she was hungry, but instead of nursing she would just lay there and smile at me. I guess I should have taken pictures. In the last 14 hours she has slept for 90 minutes. Total.
Last night Micah and Amy played ball. The video is up at www.youtube.com/deepnes. I will not post tomorrow or Thursday.

Laundry Day

Today Micah had Chinese food for lunch and he ate a lot of it comppared to how much he has eaten the last few days. Yay! He especially likes the noodles. And today was the first day he ate Jello without getting it all over himself. Score. Val and I talked at the restaraunt about what Micah had eaten the last time we took him out for chinese at lunchtime and I couldn't remember. Good thing we have this blog now. heh.
Our dryer has a trouble, which we hope to fix when we get back from our trip. In the mean time, there just isn't a good place for me to put up a clothesline in our house so I went to the laundromat today with the kiddoes and Aunty Val. Micah had fun riding around in the laundry carts and putting quarters in the machines. I also broke out the airpline ride toys we have been saving for him and he was really happy. One toy is a set of four animal puzzles and he took all the pieces and lined them up on the floor. Later he spent a lot of time playing by the washing machines- when we checked it out he had lined up all the doors so they were all open in the exact same position. We are all worn out now and I get to go empty our fridge and freezer.

Church Day

Today Micah had cooked carrots, a bite of roast, several grapes, two apple slices and a cookie for lunch. He only ate the last three things on that list. We ate with church friends and he was excited about the toys they keep around for their grand kids.
I thought of an anecdote from yesterday. Michael took Micah out on the deck of the boat to see the Dall's porpoises. Micah thought they were wonderful and he laughed and clapped and when they went away he said, "again!" and "more!" We are excited about taking to the zoo and maybe an aquarium on our trip. He is soo excited about animals right now, we are eager to see how he reacts. And yes, we will take pictures. Amy was so pretty in her outfit today- until she pooped all over everything in a 2 foot radius of her. oops. At least she waited until after church this time.

Waaaterrrrr

Today Micah had some papaya from a tropical fruit cup for lunch. He also chewed up 1/2 cup of raw carrots. He didn't chew them enough so he spit them out on the table instead of swallowing them. Then he played with them for about 5 minutes. Good times.
For Julie's birthday Val got took us on a fjords cruise out of Seward today. We saw a humpback whale, harbor seals, stellar sea lions, and quite a few Dall's porpoises. Micah enjoyed standing at the very front of the boat and looking at the waaaterrrrr. waaaaterrrrr. waaaaterrrrr. Lots of pointing too. waaaterrrr.
After lunch we got further out toward open water and the swells got bigger. It was fun to watch Micah run around with the boat pitching around underneath him. He enjoyed climbing the stairs on the boat, but his mom did not enjoy climbing back down them with him. Amy slept a lot. And received many compliments on her hair. As usual.
After we got home from Seward we went to Lowes with Val and her kids to look at house things. They have nice looking cheap cabinets at Lowes. If we bought them it would only be $3000. . . Val put Micah in the claw foot tub. Micah likes to touch all the carpet samples at home depot and lowes. I can't think of a single amusing anecdote. I shouldn't blog right before bed. I type more and it's dull. bleh.

Broccoli and Cousins

Today Micah had broccoli for lunch. He could have also eaten a kiwi, some cheese, a slice of apple and some frosted shredded wheat. He did eat the frosting off the shredded wheat. He also chewed up the apple, but opted not to eat it. Bonnie ate the cheese. The broccoli was his favorite by far today, but he couldn't remember what it was called, so when he finished his first helping he asked me for t-os (pronounced teeee-oes) but all the tomatoes he has had the last few days have brought out a bit of diaper rash. I was pleased when I realized he wanted more broccoli because I did have a tomato left- even after he started stealing them out of the fruit bowl- and I didn't want to have to hide it! He said broccoli very nicely after being reminded.

Micah's cousins came to visit today. I think everyone had a very good time playing with the different toys, although Bradley may have been a bit bored by the whole event. Micah was disturbed (as you might expect) that Bonnie was touching his toys, pulling up on his furniture and crawling down his hallway. He'll be ok.

I didn't come up with a good camera option until after 4 of the six kids had moved out of the living, so I missed proving how little space we have. Micah, Sean, Luke and Bonnie spent quite a while in Micah's room jumping on his bed and rescuing the toys from the pack and play. Sean was excited that Micah could cook his own food because he has a microwave in his room. (Our circuit breakers won't support our microwave out in the kitchen.) I think Sean will be requesting his own microwave soon.

I'm starting to realize how little time is left before we leave for vacation. Maybe I'll take pictures when I start trying clothes on Micah to see what will be good fits for the trip.

Just lunch today . .

Today Micah had a melted cheese sandwhich (I think he ate some of it), sliced tomato, and a handful of Doritos. He also had a cup of water which he promptly poured out on his tray and began playing in- it's been that sort of a day. Even Amy has been higher maintenance than usual. Happily though, I got good smile pictures and I uploaded several videos to www.youtube.com/deepnes for the first time since Micah's b-day. Yay for me.

I wonder if this will be the last post. . .

Today Micah had biscuits and gravy and watermelon for lunch. He ate two or three bites of biscuits and gravy, and one and a half bowls of watermelon. When he had finished his watermelon, he told me he would like to get down, but I was giving Amy her lunch and made him wait a while to get down. He took advantage of this time by putting the rest of his watermelon down the neck of his T-Shirt. I was going to take a picture of this, but apparently you have to charge the battery in our camera periodically. I am doing this now.

Before lunch Micah removed all the books from his bookshelf and I sighed. Then he said, "Book. Back." He then put all the books back on the shelf- neatly too! I smiled.

Even earlier I thought Amy looked bored laying in her baby seat, so I went and found the toys that attach to it. Micah was quite pleased and spent 30 minutes swinging the toys around, removing them, replacing them, and finally 'helping' Amy play with them. He would say. "Play?", pick up her arm, swing it at the toys, then drop it and whack the toys with his own hand. This was followed by many "Yays!" and much clapping.

All this must have worn him out because right now he is taking the longest nap he has ever taken in his own bed! We are approaching 2 and a half hours right now. . .
